TA VEHICLE ACCREDITATION

Western Australia Heavy Vehicle Accreditation (WAHVA)

In Western Australia, Heavy Vehicle Accreditation is mandatory for individuals and organisations that require a permit or order to perform any transport task as part of a commercial business or for profit within Western Australia, including farmers and interstate operators.Western Australia Heavy Vehicle Accreditation involves three mandatory modules:

There is one optional module which is only required to be undertaken if an operator wishes to operate within the Accredited Mass Management Scheme (AMMS).

MASS MANAGEMENT Transport operators are required to incorporate these modules into their daily work practices. Participation in WAHVA does not exempt transport operators from complying with other requirements of the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Act 2012. WAHVA Scheme Business Rules (LINK) To become accredited within Western Australia, operators must establish management systems for Fatigue, Maintenance, Dimension and Loading and, if required, Mass Management. External auditors then audit the modules to ensure that they meet the required Mainroads standard. The Audit Report is sent to Main Roads for approval.
